Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Singapore on Wednesday, greeting his Singaporean counterpart Lawrence Wong with a warm embrace. A photograph captured the friendly exchange between the two leaders, both smiling and with arms around each other's shoulders.

Taking to his social media platform X earlier in the day, PM Modi said, 'Landed in Singapore. Looking forward to the various meetings aimed at boosting the India-Singapore friendship. India's reforms and the talent of our Yuva Shakti make our nation an ideal investment destination. We also look forward to closer cultural ties.' Modi, after concluding a historic visit to Brunei, was welcomed by Singaporean Minister for Home Affairs and Law K Shanmugham and warmly received by the Indian community at Changi airport.

PM Modi interacted with community members by giving autographs and playing the dhol. He later posted on X, 'Thank you Singapore! The welcome was truly vibrant.'

Later in the evening, the Prime Minister of Singapore will host Modi for a private dinner, according to Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. During his visit, Modi will also engage with Singapore's business leaders, with several MoUs expected to be signed.

'This visit is important as it significantly boosts India's Act East policy, the Indo-Pacific vision, and the India-Singapore economic and technological ties,' Jaiswal said in a video message on X. PM Modi previously highlighted plans to deepen India's strategic partnership with Singapore, focusing on advanced manufacturing, digitalization, and sustainable development.

The visit comes just days after a ministerial roundtable meeting between India and Singapore, featuring four Union Ministers and six Singaporean ministers. The roundtable identified key areas such as digitization, skills development, sustainability, health, advanced manufacturing, and connectivity for collaboration. (ANI)
