Dubai [UAE], September 2 (ANI/WAM): In a concerted effort led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Humanitarian (DXB-H) has executed a critical airlift mission to deliver urgent relief supplies to Ndjamena, Chad, in support of more than 70,000 Sudanese refugees.
A Boeing 747 cargo plane took off from Al Maktoum International Airport on August 31st at 9:00 am, carrying 90 metric tonnes of essential medical supplies, shelter materials, and other relief items. These were provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Giuseppe Saba, CEO of Dubai Humanitarian, emphasized the importance of rapid response, stating that the swift mobilization and delivery of aid underscore the robust partnerships and support from Dubai's leadership. The operation, which cost AED1.48 million (USD405,000) and was funded by Dubai Humanitarian's Global Humanitarian Impact Fund, aims to ease the suffering and safeguard lives in the region.
