Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a telephonic conversation with US President Joe Biden, briefing him on his recent visit to Ukraine and reiterating India's steadfast position advocating dialogue and diplomacy. Both leaders discussed a wide range of regional and global issues, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation in multilateral fora, including the Quad.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, Modi emphasized India's support for early peace and stability in Ukraine. This conversation followed Modi's landmark visit to Ukraine, the first by an Indian prime minister, during which he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Modi stressed India's consistent stance favoring a peaceful resolution through dialogue, announcing India's readiness to play an active role in achieving peace and progress.

The leaders also addressed the ongoing situation in Bangladesh, expressing shared concerns and calling for law and order restoration, particularly for minority safety. The conversation occurred days after significant political upheaval in Bangladesh, following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's resignation, and the interim government establishment. Both Modi and Biden agreed to remain in close contact regarding the evolving circumstances.
