Adam Yates of the UAE Team Emirates performed a stunning comeback at the Vuelta Espana after the team faced a setback with Joao Almeida's withdrawal. Yates clinched the queen stage from Motril to Granada, covering a distance of 178.5km.

In an impressive display of strength, Yates broke away from the pack early on with teammates Marc Soler and Jay Vine. He eventually went solo at the Hazallanas climb, holding a significant lead till the finish line, arriving in Granada with a 3'45' advantage over his general classification rivals.

Simultaneously, Marc Hirschi secured a major win in the Bretagne Classic in France, his second consecutive victory in a one-day World Tour event following his recent success at the San Sebastian Classic.
