European Parliament member Dariusz Jonski has emphasized the significance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to Poland, highlighting its political and business importance. PM Modi's visit marks the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in 45 years and will take place from August 21-23, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.

In an interview with ANI, Jonski stated that Poland is keen to discuss cooperation in the healthcare and IT sectors, among others. He noted that Poland currently needs 25,000 doctors and specialists and is interested in collaborating with Indian companies. He underscored that Modi's visit will strengthen bilateral relations. 'Prime Minister Modi is coming to Poland after 45 years,' Jonski said. 'This visit is very important for us because of politics and business.'

MEA Secretary (West) Tanmaya Lal called this a 'landmark visit,' describing it as an opportunity for both nations to review their bilateral relationship and offer guidance on enhancing cooperation. Modi's visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland. The historic ties between the nations include Poland's assistance to India during the 2022 Ukraine evacuation and the refuge provided to Polish women and children during World War II.
