India Aims for 2047 Development Milestone with Japan's Strategic Partnership
India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the crucial role of Japan in achieving India's vision of becoming a developed country by 2047. Strategic defense and industry collaborations were discussed during the third round of the India-Japan 2+2 Foreign and Defence Ministerial meeting.

India's vision to become a developed nation by 2047 is strongly supported by its partnership with Japan, stated Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday. He highlighted the importance of collaborations in defense technology and industry during the third India-Japan 2+2 Foreign and Defence Ministerial meeting.
Rajnath Singh pointed out that bilateral relations between India and Japan have strengthened significantly across various sectors, particularly in defense. 'We aim to transform India by 2047, marking 100 years of independence, with Japan playing a crucial role in our defense sector,' he said. The Japanese Defence Minister Minoru Kihara and Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa participated in the discussions.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, also present at the meeting, stated that India-Japan cooperation is pivotal for a free, open, and rules-based Indo-Pacific. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reinforced these sentiments, recognizing the partnership's role in promoting regional peace and stability.
