Telangana Eyes Strategic Partnership with CWEIC, Boosts Trade Prospects

Rosie Glazebrook, Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), visited the Telangana Secretariat to meet with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, aiming to explore the region's trade potential. Glazebrook outlined the Council's initiatives to boost trade and investment among the 56 Commonwealth countries.
During the meeting, Glazebrook emphasized the CWEIC's support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups, envisioning Telangana as a strategic partner in achieving sustainable growth. She proposed that Telangana could play a pivotal role in the CWEIC's objectives, making it an ideal ally in promoting business development across the Commonwealth.
An official statement shared on 'X' highlighted that Glazebrook expressed the Council's interest in engaging Telangana as a strategic partner. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy shared his vision for Telangana's progress, detailing flagship programs like the Regional Ring Road (RRR), FutureCity, and the Musi River Development Project, aimed at reviving the state's urban and economic landscape.
This meeting marks the beginning of a potential partnership to integrate Telangana into the Commonwealth's trade network, providing a boost to its SMEs and startups through enhanced collaboration. Recently, Foxconn Chairman Young Liu also showed interest in investing in Hyderabad, praising its capacity for industrial and service sector growth.
According to Foxconn, Liu, in a meeting with CM Reddy in New Delhi, endorsed his vision for the Fourth City project, noting Hyderabad's robust potential for expansion in various sectors.
