An impressive lineup of celebrities, including Mindy Kaling, Kerry Washington, Ana Navarro, and Tony Goldwyn, will host the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, according to officials cited by The Hill. Each will have a designated night during the four-day event, guiding both in-person and television audiences through the program.
Goldwyn, a known Democratic activist, starts the event on Monday. Navarro takes over on Tuesday, followed by Kaling on Wednesday and Washington on Thursday. Organizers shared that these figures were selected due to their previous endorsements of Democratic candidates.
Goldwyn, famous for his role in ABC's 'Scandal,' supported Hillary Clinton in 2016. Kaling, renowned for 'The Office' and 'Inside Out,' frequently collaborated with Vice President Harris, including a 2020 virtual campaign for Biden. Navarro, a 'Republican strategist and co-host of ABC's 'The View,' has increasingly backed the Democratic Party, especially post-Trump. Washington, founder of the 'Influence Change' activism group, also co-chaired the advisory council for Power the Polls this year, alongside former Rep. Adam Kinzinger.
President Biden will kick off the convention with opening remarks on Monday, and Senator Harris will conclude with her acceptance speech on Thursday. Nearly 50,000 visitors, including 4,000 delegates, are expected. The theme is 'For the People, For Our Future,' and official schedules confirm speeches from President and First Lady Jill Biden. (ANI)
