External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar engaged with the Indian community in Kuwait and met representatives of various professional and community associations. He praised their successes and their role in strengthening India-Kuwait relations.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) noted that Jaishankar's visit included meetings with a cross-section of prominent Indian community members. The minister commended the community's achievements and its role as a 'living bridge' between the two nations. His visit to Kuwait began on August 18.

Jaishankar also held discussions with Kuwait's Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He expressed gratitude for Kuwait's leadership in bolstering bilateral ties. Furthermore, during his meeting with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, Jaishankar explored avenues for deepening cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investments, pharma, technology, and education.

The MEA confirmed that both sides demonstrated keen interest in enhancing economic partnerships and streamlining labour and manpower issues. The ministers also shared views on regional and global matters of mutual interest, aiming to give fresh momentum to bilateral relations.
