In a shocking act of patriarchal violence, a Pakistani woman's legs were severed by her father and uncles after she filed for divorce to escape an abusive marriage, according to Geo News. The incident took place in Gul Town, leaving the victim, Sobia Batool Shah, with severe physical and mental trauma.

Sobia reported to the police that her father, Syed Mustafa Shah, and uncles armed with axes attacked her for seeking a divorce from her neglectful and abusive husband. As per reports, the attackers fled the scene, leaving her in a pool of blood. She was subsequently rushed to a Nawab Shah hospital.
