An explosion caused by a drone rocked Tel Aviv on Friday morning, throwing the area into chaos as security forces and medical teams promptly responded to the scene. Local media reports indicate that the explosion occurred near the US Consulate in Tel Aviv. According to the Times of Israel, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that an 'aerial target' had impacted the coastal city.

The IDF stated that the incident is under 'thorough investigation,' noting that the drone entered Israeli airspace without activating alarms. In response, the Israeli Air Force plans to increase fighter jet patrols to 'defend Israeli skies.' The Magen David Adom ambulance service reported that a man was killed by shrapnel from the explosion. Additionally, eight individuals have been transported to local hospitals. Four suffered shrapnel wounds or shock, while another four are being treated for anxiety.

In related news, the IDF announced earlier operations on July 18 that neutralized 20 Hamas terrorists, including key operatives such as Nukhba engineers and snipers. Among the casualties was Muhammed Abu Jattab, a notorious sniper responsible for several attacks, and Ismael Shakshak, who had infiltrated Israeli territory. The IDF also highlighted Hamas' interference with humanitarian aid, citing an instance on July 17 when Hamas terrorists attacked IDF troops along a humanitarian route, causing temporary closure. The IDF maintains it follows international law to support essential aid efforts for Gaza civilians in coordination with relevant authorities.
