Delaware Republican Party Chair Julianne Murray stated that the recent attack on former U.S. President Donald Trump has garnered support from a surprising number of non-Republicans. Speaking to ANI, Murray said, "Trump is a force to be reckoned with." She noted that Trump has been the Republican Party's presumptive nominee for several months, and the attack on him has only solidified that support.

Responding to questions about whether the assassination attempt had unified Republicans, Murray said, "I think that's helped. Saturday brought in more non-Republicans than Republicans. President Trump is a force, and from a unification standpoint, it's been building." She added that the gravity of the situation had emphasized the serious business the party needs to concentrate on.

The attack on Trump occurred at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, where gunshots were fired, resulting in one fatality and several injuries. The shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by Secret Service agents. Murray acknowledged that the Republican Party is focused on Americans and emphasized the importance of unity and policy over party allegiance.
