FBI officials disclosed on Thursday that a gunman who tried to kill Donald Trump had conducted a sustained and detailed effort to attack a major gathering before deciding to target a Pennsylvania rally in July.
The suspect, identified as Thomas Crooks, 20, reportedly searched information about Trump and Democratic President Joe Biden more than 60 times prior to registering for the rally.
Officials noted that Crooks registered for the Trump rally in early July after his extensive research on both political figures.
