In a significant political move, Vice President Kamala Harris left a voicemail to GOP Ohio Senator JD Vance on Monday, congratulating him on his vice presidential nomination by former President Donald Trump. Harris's message, confirmed by a Biden-Harris campaign official, expressed congratulations and a hope to see Vance at the CBS News debate.

While the Biden campaign has agreed to a debate hosted by CBS News, the Trump camp is pushing for a Fox News debate. The unanimous nomination of Vance as the GOP vice presidential candidate was finalized during the Republican National Committee's convention in Milwaukee.

CNN reported that Harris welcomed Vance to the race and congratulated him on his selection. If elected with Trump, Vance would be the second youngest vice president in American history, according to The New York Post.

Trump announced his decision on Truth Social, highlighting Vance's achievements, including his military service, education, and his best-selling book, 'Hillbilly Elegy.' Trump praised Vance's successful career in technology and finance, and his commitment to American workers and farmers in key states.
