Dubai [UAE], July 15 (ANI/WAM): The Dubai Premier Padel P1 tournament, a component of the newly integrated 25-tournament season covering 18 countries across five continents, will be hosted under the patronage of Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council. The event, which will take place at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, is set to feature the world's elite players. Organized by Gallop Global, the tournament will see 256 players competing in separate male and female formats, with a combined prize pool of 470,000 euros (AED 1.89 million).

This marks the first time Dubai Premier Padel P1 is being held in Dubai, following a multi-year agreement between the UAE Padel Association (UAEPA), the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Dubai Sports Council (DSC), Premier Padel, and Dubai-based Gallop Global. Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, UAEPA President, stated that the support from His Highness Sheikh Mansoor will be a major driving force in hosting more such events in the nation. Since the official introduction of padel to the UAE in 2013, the UAE leadership has been actively supporting various padel events and other subsequent sports activities.

Saeed Mohammed Hareb, Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, remarked on the remarkable progress of padel in the UAE, particularly in Dubai. He highlighted the increase in the number of practitioners and courts, as well as the successful organization of international tournaments that attract top-ranked players globally. This progress, he noted, is a testament to the diligence of the UAE Padel Federation, headed by Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, focusing on promoting padel culture and its numerous benefits.
