During a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump was on stage when gunshots erupted, causing Secret Service agents to swiftly react and secure the former President. Authorities stated that the shooter fired multiple shots from a nearby rooftop before being taken down by Secret Service personnel.
Law enforcement revealed that the gun used in the attack helped identify Crooks, who lacked personal identification. Eyewitnesses had spotted him acting suspiciously near the rally's metal detectors, leading local law enforcement to communicate their concerns to Secret Service.
