Modi Inaugurates Super Specialty Hospital and Yoga Institute in Chhattisgarh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a super speciality hospital at Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences and laid the foundation for a Yoga and Naturopathy research institute in Raipur. The development projects, worth Rs 12,850 crore, aim to enhance healthcare facilities, particularly benefiting patients in rural Chhattisgarh.

In a significant push to enhance healthcare infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated a super speciality hospital at the Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) on Tuesday. The prime minister also laid the cornerstone for the Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) in Raipur.
These development projects, amounting to approximately Rs 12,850 crore, include the extension of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme to senior citizens aged 70 and above. The newly built 240-bed super speciality unit in Bilaspur, costing Rs 200 crore, is poised to offer advanced treatment taking significant strides in elevating healthcare standards.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the government's commitment to comprehensive growth, covering sectors like education, health, and employment. State Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal outlined plans for CRIYN in Raipur, a 100-bed yoga and naturopathy center, which will pioneer non-communicable disease treatment and offer various certification programs, bolstering knowledge in holistic health practices.
