AIIMS-Kalyani's Leap in Healthcare: New Facilities Inaugurated Virtually by PM Modi

Aimed at boosting healthcare services, the event coincided with Ayurveda Day. Additionally, development projects worth Rs 12,850 crore and health insurance for seniors were also announced.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated a series of advancements at AIIMS-Kalyani in West Bengal, virtually cutting the ribbon on a new cardiac lab and generic medicine outlet.
The cardiac cath laboratory, now equipped with imaging apparatus to scrutinize heart structures, was a highlight of the virtual event. A new cardiopulmonary bypass machine, designed to temporarily supplant heart and lung functions during surgery, was also introduced. Modi additionally unveiled a Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra at AIIMS-Kalyani.
Bolstering the healthcare sector, the Prime Minister also launched wide-ranging development projects valued at nearly Rs 12,850 crore and extended the Ayushman Bharat health cover to citizens over 70. The announcements synchronized with the observance of the ninth Ayurveda Day and Dhanvantari's birth anniversary, enriching the nation's healthcare infrastructure.
