Prime Minister Modi Boosts Indian Healthcare with Landmark Projects

In a sweeping move to bolster India's healthcare framework, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced development projects valued at nearly Rs 12,850 crore. Central to this unveiling is the expansion of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme to senior citizens aged 70 and above, ensuring wider healthcare access.
Marking the ninth Ayurveda Day, Modi inaugurated the second phase of India's pioneering All India Institute of Ayurveda in New Delhi. The institution now includes a Panchakarma hospital, a comprehensive Ayurvedic pharmacy, a sports medicine unit, and a state-of-the-art IT and startup incubation centre. A 500-seat auditorium also features prominently.
Introducing technological advancements, Modi launched drone services at 11 tertiary healthcare institutions and initiated helicopter emergency medical services from AIIMS Rishikesh. Furthermore, the U-WIN portal was launched to digitise the vaccination process, aiming at enhancing maternal and infant health across the country.
