Prime Minister Modi Inaugurates New Eye Hospital in Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the R J Sankara Eye Hospital in Varanasi, an initiative by the Kanchi Math. The hospital aims to serve 20 districts in Uttar Pradesh and border areas of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, conducting 30,000 free eye surgeries annually.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated a state-of-the-art eye hospital in Varanasi. The R J Sankara Eye Hospital, backed by the esteemed Kanchi Math, promises comprehensive eye care services.

Aimed at serving 20 districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh and bordering states like Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, the hospital marks Kanchi Math's 14th establishment in India and plans to perform 30,000 free eye surgeries annually.

During his visit, Modi interacted with the Shankaracharya of the Kanchi Math, visited an exhibition, and announced development projects exceeding Rs 6,100 crore, alongside Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
