Mass Resignation of Doctors: Solidarity Without Service Disruption

In a show of solidarity with junior doctors, senior medical professionals at various hospitals in West Bengal have resigned en masse. Despite this, state health department officials have assured that healthcare services remain unaffected, even during the ongoing Durga Puja festivities.
Doctor Sunirmal Basu, a regular patient at RG Kar Hospital's orthopedic department, confirmed that his consulting physician was present as per usual. Meanwhile, another patient undergoing cancer therapy reported no disruption to their treatment schedule.
The mass resignation is a symbolic move aimed at urging the state government to address grievances that have sparked protests following the alleged rape and murder of a woman doctor in August. Doctors hope their collective action will prompt authorities to engage in discussions and find a resolution.
