Babulal Marandi, the Jharkhand BJP president, has called for a high-level investigation into the recent deaths of several Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) members, allegedly due to inadequate medical treatment.
In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Marandi highlighted specific cases, stating that the deteriorating healthcare services in Jharkhand have led to these tragic fatalities. He noted the death of a six-year-old Paharia girl from dengue at Sahibganj Sadar Hospital, a pregnant 19-year-old woman from Kunda Pahari village in Dumka who suffered due to ambulance delays, and the deaths of eight PVTG members in Negra Tand village, Jamtara, from an unknown illness over the past 22 days.
