Miracle Birth: Woman with Blood Cancer Delivers Healthy Twins

A 22-year-old Indore woman with blood cancer gave birth to twins at a government hospital. Her condition made the delivery complex, but after consultations with experts and special medication, both the mother and twins are healthy. This rare case has brought joy to the woman's family.

In a remarkable medical event, a 22-year-old woman diagnosed with blood cancer successfully gave birth to twins at a government hospital in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Dr. Akshay Lahoti from the Government Super Specialty Hospital's clinical haematology department revealed that the woman, suffering from chronic myeloid leukaemia, faced significant risks during her pregnancy due to elevated white blood cell counts. Standard cancer treatments were deemed unsafe, prompting a unique medical strategy.

After global consultations and a specialized medication regimen, the woman safely delivered a boy and a girl. Dr. Sumitra Yadav, the attending gynaecologist, stated that the woman was kept unaware of her cancer diagnosis to preserve her mental health. Both mother and twins are doing well, marking a rare success in medical history.
