Union Health Minister J P Nadda inaugurated several significant health projects in Bihar's Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga regions on Saturday. He also inspected the proposed site for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Shobhan in the Mithila region.

Nadda began his day by reviewing the under-construction campus at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), expressing confidence that the Rs 5540 crore project, which will feature 5,462 beds, will elevate the quality of health services in Patna. He highlighted the NDA government's dedication to eliminating regional disparities in health infrastructure under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhry and other dignitaries, Nadda then inaugurated the newly constructed super-specialty block at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), valued at Rs 150 crore. He underscored the potential of the super-specialty block in providing advanced health facilities and creating new opportunities for education, health, and employment in Bihar. Nadda also emphasized AIIMS Darbhanga's future role in serving not only Bihar but also neighboring states.

Concluding his visit, Nadda inaugurated another super-specialty block at Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur, before departing for Delhi from Patna airport. Earlier, he paid his respects at Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib in the state capital.
