Apollo Hospitals announced Wednesday the launch of the Apollo Research Academy, aimed at boosting healthcare research and innovation.

The academy, spearheaded by Ravi P Mahajan, seeks to unify efforts across Apollo Health Education and Research Foundation, Apollo University, ARI, Apollo Research Centre, Apollo Clinical Innovation Group, and other entities to form a globally recognised center of research excellence.

'This strategic alignment aims to elevate Apollo's research capabilities, encourage cooperation, and establish partnerships with notable national and international research and funding organizations,' stated Apollo Hospitals Founder & Chairman Prathap C Reddy.

By consolidating the expertise of its entities, the academy aims to transition from being 'research active' to a global leader in healthcare research and innovation, significantly impacting healthcare and policy, Reddy added.

The initiative will be directed by a steering group, with a programme board responsible for daily operations, and individual project boards managing specific initiatives and consortiums, the healthcare major noted.
