The Ministry of Minority Affairs, in collaboration with the International Buddhist Confederation, is set to convene a one-day conclave titled 'Buddha's Madhyama Marg/The Middle Path to Guide Global Leadership,' on September 14 at the Nehru Science Centre, Worli. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju will be the event's chief guest.

This significant gathering aims to discuss the dissemination and internalization of universal values within the diverse philosophical, academic, cultural, and national contexts of Dhamma followers. The event seeks to address contemporary global and individual challenges, offering sustainable models for the future.

The conference, also honoring Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar's contribution to modern Buddhism, will feature three sessions: 'Role and Relevance of Buddha Dhamma in Modern Times,' 'Significance of Mindful Techniques,' and 'New Age Leadership and Implementation of Buddha Dhamma.' These panels will explore practical solutions to achieving universal brotherhood, sustainability, and personal well-being through Buddha's teachings.

Historical markers like King Ashoka's rock-edicts serve as testaments to the widespread influence of Dhamma across Asia. Under Ashoka's rule, the principles of Dhamma brought peace, prosperity, and harmony.

In today's technologically advanced yet value-deprived world, recognizing and practicing Dhamma is crucial for establishing a peaceful global order. Amid rising violence and degraded human values, Buddha Dhamma offers the tools for resolving conflicts and fostering universal peace and harmony.

Interfaith dialogue anchored in Buddha Dhamma can lead to global brotherhood and peaceful coexistence, addressing humanity's urgent need for stability and harmony in personal and global spheres. This conclave underscores the importance of steering human nature towards a peaceful existence founded on Dhamma. (ANI)
