Bihar's Health Department has taken proactive steps by issuing an advisory to the district administrations and hospitals concerning Monkeypox prevention. The department emphasized the need for officials to educate the public about the viral disease.

The Patna district administration quickly responded by instructing its civil surgeon to establish a health desk at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport. Patna District Magistrate (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh elaborated on the directive, stating that while no cases have been reported yet, close monitoring of incoming travelers is essential.

Officials are required to document the travel history of international passengers visiting Patna within the last 21 days. In addition, the Inland Navigation Authority at Gaighat (Patna) has been tasked with supervising incoming international travelers via ships. Hospitals are on standby to notify any Monkeypox cases and have been advised to reserve isolation beds for patients, aligning with the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's advisory.
