India is poised to host the 15th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion, known as Safety 2024, from September 2 to 4, 2024. The conference will focus on global efforts to enhance road safety, prevent drownings, and protect vulnerable populations.

The event is being organized by IIT Delhi and the George Institute for Global Health, in collaboration with AIIMS and NIMHANS, and co-sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO). The theme 'Building a Safer Future for All: Equitable and Sustainable Strategies for Injury and Violence Prevention' aims to reduce global injury and violence rates through collaborative strategies.

Keynote speaker Union Road and Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari, will underline the government's commitment to road safety. Other international experts, including Rebecca Stapleton from ADB, will share innovative research and practices. Guided by an International Organising Committee chaired by Professor Adnan Hyder, the conference will serve as a crucial platform for fostering global partnerships and innovative solutions in injury prevention.
