Priscila Krause, the vice-governor of Pernambuco state, reported that around 20 individuals were medically treated after the incident. She assured that authorities do not anticipate more fatalities but will continue to search through the debris.
The church, which was serving as a food distribution center at the time of the collapse, saw the sudden tragedy strike amidst its charitable efforts.
