A doctor has been accused of raping two female patients at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, during an echocardiogram test conducted on Sunday.
Cuttack Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Anil Mishra confirmed that a case was registered on Monday after receiving a written complaint from the two patients. The Health and Family Welfare Department has subsequently formed a three-member inquiry committee to probe the serious allegations.
Reports suggest the accused doctor was beaten by the patients' relatives, though police have not yet received any formal complaint regarding this incident.
