Recent unrest in Bangladesh has caused a notable decline in the number of Bangladeshi patients seeking medical treatment at Kolkata hospitals, officials reported.

The violence has deterred many from traveling, slashing patient numbers at major hospitals like Peerless, Manipal, Fortis, and Apollo by nearly half.

Peerless Hospital CEO Sudipta Mitra expressed concern over the prolonged impact but remains hopeful for a return to normalcy soon.
