Riyazuddin, a 32-year-old man, was shot dead inside GTB Hospital's Ward Number 24 on Sunday. The victim was undergoing treatment for an abdominal infection when an 18-year-old assailant fired the fatal shot around 4 pm.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Surendra Choudhary noted the incident seems to be rooted in personal enmity. 'On reaching the spot, police found that a patient, namely Riyazuddin, received injury. He was later declared dead by doctors,' Choudhary confirmed. Security measures are under review.

Witnesses describe the harrowing scene, with the shooter demanding calm before fleeing. Further investigations are underway.
