In a significant achievement, Himachal Pradesh's Una district has been hailed as the best in India for executing the 'Ek Yudh Nashe Ke Virudh' action plan, according to Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal. The recognition was awarded at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, by Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, on June 30.

Launched in February 2021, this joint initiative by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and the Narcotics Control Bureau aims to combat drug and substance abuse in educational institutions. Lal highlighted the commendable contributions of various departments, emphasizing the 'Nasha Mukt Una Abhiyan' (drug-free Una campaign) and its positive outcomes.

The campaign involved 26,000 students through skill and life development programs at schools and colleges. Additionally, about 247 teachers and principals were trained. The initiative also extended to households under 'Har Ghar Dastak Abhiyan,' raising awareness about drug abuse in one lakh homes. Lal expressed gratitude to Una residents and urged continued support for future drug-free campaigns.
