At least 20 students fell ill after drinking water from a tank in their school in Jharkhand's Latehar district on Saturday, officials reported.
Upon being taken to a local health center, doctors confirmed that the condition of all affected children was stable. The incident occurred at the Upgraded Primary School in Duru, located around 80 km from the state capital, Ranchi.
According to a school teacher, the children began to feel unwell and started vomiting after consuming water from the school tank post their meal. Some students even noted a foul smell in the water. Immediate medical attention was sought, and the students were brought to the local community health center for examination.
Doctors assured that their condition was stable, but further investigation is underway. Chandwa Block Development Officer Chandan Kumar stated that water samples have been taken for examination and visited the health center to check on the students' condition.
