The Director General of Police in Uttar Pradesh, Prashant Kumar, has implemented comprehensive security guidelines to uphold law and order during the forthcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festival, according to a recent press statement. These directives have been passed down to senior police officials across the state.
The guidelines stipulate that police deployments follow a zone and sector scheme, particularly focusing on sensitive areas. Key locations will see increased presence of police pickets, static magistrates, and gazetted officers. Authorities are charged with preventing new traditions and updating lists of anti-social elements to preempt disturbances.
Engagements with peace committee members and religious leaders are encouraged to foster cooperation. Senior police personnel are urged to visit event locations, conduct flag marches, and collaborate with Central Armed Police Forces for secure gatherings.
Regular foot patrols and anti-sabotage operations will reinforce security in crowded areas. Quick Response Teams will be strategically placed for emergencies, while intelligence networks will be on high alert to address suspicious activities swiftly.
Drone surveillance, adequate police presence on procession routes, and widespread CCTV monitoring will bolster electronic surveillance. Social media will be closely watched for misinformation, with legal measures ready to counter any such activities.
As preparations continue for Alvida Namaz, security protocols in Lucknow are intensified with over a thousand police personnel and numerous PAC companies deployed. Proper traffic management is in place, with police holding peace meetings and liaising with religious leaders to ensure smooth proceedings.
