At a vibrant event in Nirjuli, Arunachal Pradesh, Minister Gabriel D Wangsu urged a transition to commercial piggery farming as a pathway to economic advancement and youth empowerment. Addressing the graduates of the 'Catch Them Young' skill training program, he emphasized the necessity of commercial farming for the state's future growth.
Wangsu underscored the importance of a transparent and unbiased selection process for beneficiaries of government programs. He highlighted bio-security practices in livestock farming to prevent disease outbreaks, ensuring sustainable production. The event, organized by the state animal husbandry department, aimed to provide unemployed youth with essential training for self-reliance.
The trainees, who began their rigorous programming in March, shared experiential feedback with the minister, receiving assurances of ongoing government support. Their education included exposure visits to key farming hubs and insights from industry experts, including 'Pigman of Tezpur', Manoj Basumatary. The initiative aims to expand youth and farmer training across diverse agricultural trades.
