At the Third Collectors' Conference held on Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the paramount importance of integrating artificial intelligence and advanced technology in modern policing. He underscored the necessity for law enforcement agencies to harness data-driven strategies to outpace criminal activities.
Chief Minister Naidu pointed out the critical need for precision in criminal investigations, citing the lack of data as a primary reason for weak cases. He stressed the importance of securing forensic evidence and illustrated his point with the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case, which he believes serves as an example of investigative shortcomings.
Furthermore, Naidu instructed police officials to incorporate satellite data and AI-backed analytics to effectively counter Maoist threats along the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border. He also declared the formation of a committee to enhance de-addiction centres to combat substance abuse, with results to be shared at the forthcoming Collectors' Conference. Reflecting a forward-thinking approach, Naidu announced plans for a Quantum Valley, establishing Andhra Pradesh as a frontrunner in Quantum Computing to lead tech-driven policing innovations.
