The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) spokesperson, Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas, has strongly criticized the Central government's proposed Waqf (Amendment) Bill, accusing it of having a communal agenda.
Speaking to ANI, Ilyas stated that AIMPLB is non-political and believes the bill's primary aim is to seize Waqf properties while misleading the public. He emphasized that the bill should be withdrawn due to its unconstitutional nature.
AIMPLB, following a significant protest in Delhi, plans to launch a nationwide agitation. The organization is rallying support from various community groups, civil societies, and opposition parties who opposed the bill, which intends to digitize records, conduct audits, and prevent illegal property occupation.
