In a resolute response, China has criticized the United States for imposing punitive tariffs on countries that engage in oil and gas trade with Venezuela, according to a statement from the Chinese foreign ministry on Tuesday.

Spokesperson Guo Jiakun expressed Beijing's disapproval, urging the U.S. to cease interfering in Venezuela's domestic matters and to revoke what China considers 'illegal' unilateral sanctions targeting the South American nation.
