The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Constitution (129th Amendment) Bill, 2024, and the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024, is scheduled to convene at the Parliament Annexe on Tuesday. The session is set to include dialogue with Justice D.N. Patel, former Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court and current Chairperson of the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT).

The subsequent discussion will feature R. Venkataramani, the Attorney General of India. Another meeting on April 2 expects to involve Justice Hemant Gupta and Justice BS Chauhan, both former Supreme Court Justices, to provide their perspectives as part of the ongoing review of the bills targeting significant legal reforms.

Prior to this, the committee's March 18 meeting saw participation from former Solicitor General Harish Salve, with discussions extending for five hours. Discussions continue towards aligning national and state assembly election cycles, aiming for a 'One Nation, One Election' reform as part of the constitutional amendment under review.
