Nisha, a local resident, highlighted the integral role that Holi plays in maintaining cultural practices. 'We have celebrated Holi here for generations. It's a time when young people gather to dance and exchange colors, reinforcing our traditions and promoting our local heritage. Particularly today, some have pledged to tackle the issue of drug abuse,' she explained.
This sentiment was echoed by Shanaya, another resident, who emphasized the importance of the festival in embracing traditions and spreading joy through Pahadi dance and Nati. Meanwhile, Mahi expressed the collective anticipation for this annual event, which unites the youth of Sanjauli in a moment of cultural pride and happiness.
As the Himachal Pradesh government intensifies efforts against drug abuse, the local youth are taking proactive measures by urging peers to focus on cultural preservation over harmful substances. Ishu Thakur, a resident, stressed the necessity of confronting the growing drug problem, advocating for a drug-free future while emphasizing the preservation of local traditions and art forms.
