India Celebrates as PM Modi Receives Mauritius’s Top Honor

In a moment of national pride, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was decorated with Mauritius's highest civilian honor, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean. This significant accolade was celebrated by many, including BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal, who expressed immense pride in India's growing global recognition under Modi's leadership.
A large crowd gathered despite rainy weather to witness this historic event on Mauritius's National Day. PM Modi, while accepting the award, dedicated it to the 1.4 billion people of India, emphasizing the enduring cultural and historical ties between the two nations. He noted that it symbolizes mutual aspirations for peace, security, and sustainable development in the region.
Further strengthening bilateral relations, PM Modi engaged in discussions with Mauritius PM Navinchandra Ramgoolam about elevating the partnership to an Enhanced Strategic Partnership. In a symbolic gesture, Modi offered prayers at the sacred Ganga Talao and used holy water from the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. Both leaders also inaugurated the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Public Service and Innovation, underscoring the growing collaboration between the countries. (ANI)
