In preparation for the Mahakumbh 2025, North Central Railway is rolling out special measures to accommodate the influx of pilgrims in Prayagraj. In a digital upgrade, the Prayagraj division has unveiled a modern initiative to streamline the ticketing procedure.
Ahead of the Mahakumbh, dedicated personnel from the Commercial Department will adorn green jackets with a QR code at Prayagraj Junction and other strategic spots. Pilgrims can use their mobile devices to scan this code, granting access to the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) mobile app, thus bypassing traditional queues.
This pioneering step aims to decongest railway stations, allowing pilgrims to purchase tickets effortlessly. The integration of digital payment systems promises to enhance the travel experience. Staff in green jackets will be available across platforms and vital locations to guide pilgrims, facilitating a seamless ticket booking process via the UTS app.
This initiative by North Central Railway reflects the Digital India vision, providing pilgrims with technological ease and improving their experience at the global spiritual congregation. The new ticketing system is set to make Mahakumbh 2025 a digitally savvy event, ensuring a comfortable and effective journey for all attendees.
