As New Year 2025 celebrations near, Delhi Police have unveiled an extensive security plan to ensure the safety of revelers in the national capital. Popular gathering spots like Hauz Khas, Connaught Place, and Lajpat Nagar are set to face heavy footfall, and Assistant Commissioner Surendra Chaudhary assured that all necessary measures are in place.

Collaborating with traffic authorities, the police have deployed a facial recognition system van aimed at identifying individuals with criminal histories. A total of 60 monitoring cameras will keep a watchful eye, while police stations' senior officers stand ready to address crowds through loudspeakers if necessary. Numerous checkpoints have been established, equipped with breath analyzers to deter and identify drunk driving.

Special focus is directed toward 35 celebration venues and 15 popular spots, including malls and cinemas, under stringent surveillance. Additional forces have been allocated at 21 bus stops, and 60 motorcycle patrols are active along sensitive routes. Authorities have strongly urged citizens to celebrate responsibly, prompt reporting of suspicious activities is encouraged via helpline number 112.
