Joint Operation Busts Illegal Firearms Plant in Bihar

In a significant breakthrough, a joint team comprising Kolkata Police's Special Task Force (STF), Bihar STF, and Tarapur Police successfully dismantled an illegal firearms manufacturing unit based in Munger, Bihar. The raid, conducted on Wednesday night, led to the arrest of two individuals, MD Monazir Hussain, aged 27, and MD Nasim, aged 38.
The Kolkata police STF revealed that the operation was initiated following specific intelligence inputs. The joint team executed the raid at a residence belonging to MD Monazir Hussain in Gazipur village. Amidst the search, officers uncovered a concealed underground chamber, designed to accommodate an improvised firearms manufacturing setup.
The illicit operation, masquerading as a food plate manufacturing unit, was reportedly run by Hussain, his brother-in-law, Nasim, and an associate, Irshad Mallick. Police apprehended the key suspects inside the premises. Authorities confiscated a range of equipment, including pistol parts and machinery, underscoring the extensive scale of the operation. This marks the 14th arms unit shutdown in the regions of Bihar and Jharkhand within the last three years. A case has been filed at Tarapur Police Station in Munger.
