Union Minister Pralhad Joshi announced the organization of a 'chintan shivir' in Odisha aimed at strategizing for India's renewable energy goals. Joshi highlighted significant advancements in solar energy production, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the country's increased focus on renewables.
Speaking at the International Solar Alliance in New Delhi, Joshi cited India's recent achievement of 90 gigawatts in solar capacity, underscoring the goal of 500 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030. He mentioned ambitious plans for green hydrogen production and the development of offshore wind energy sites.
Within his address, Joshi affirmed the importance of solar energy initiatives such as India's solar rooftop program. The International Solar Alliance's '1000 Strategy' was also a key theme, aiming to obtain significant investment to support broad solar energy adoption and mitigate carbon emissions.
