The Delhi High Court on Wednesday reiterated its directive to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Harish Khurana, ordering his appearance in an appeal by Sunita Kejriwal, wife of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal is challenging a summoning order concerning her registration in multiple electoral rolls.
Justice Chandra Dhari Singh demanded Khurana's presence by December 10, cautioning that the court will proceed in his absence if necessary. The bench was informed of Khurana's repeated no-shows, with representation by senior advocate Rebecca John and associates for Kejriwal.
Sunita Kejriwal argued her compliance with declaring her residential shift, emphasizing the electoral authority's responsibility to amend the records. Justice Singh noted that Khurana has been served but remained absent on four court occasions, with an interim stay granted previously on the summoning order.
