West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has demanded an urgent report from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee following explosive allegations made by Sanjay Roy, the principal accused in the RG Kar rape and murder case. Roy has accused former Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal of orchestrating a conspiracy against him.
In a post on platform X, the Raj Bhavan Media Cell informed that Governor Bose urged the state government to investigate the claims and present him with the factual findings and the state's stance on these grave allegations promptly.
The incident traces back to August 9, with the rape and murder of a second-year medical student at RG Kar Medical College. Amidst the controversy, protests have erupted, demanding the Central Bureau of Investigation's involvement and capital punishment for the guilty parties.
