In a significant technological upgrade, Uttar Pradesh's Mahakumbh 2025 will see the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its CCTV systems, as announced by the state's Director General of Police, Prashant Kumar. The elaborate security arrangements are part of a comprehensive strategy to safely manage the world's largest human congregation.
With an expected turnout of 40-50 crore devotees, the event will feature robust surveillance through inter-district and zonal checks, aiming to monitor and mitigate any potential threats. Meanwhile, the fairgrounds will be illuminated with over 40,000 rechargeable bulbs, ensuring the site remains bright and inviting even during power interruptions.
As part of enhanced safety measures, 220 elite divers from both the National and State Disaster Response Forces, accompanied by India's foremost Water Police, will patrol the sacred Sangam waters. This unprecedented deployment underscores the administration's commitment to ensuring a secure environment for pilgrims and revered saints participating in the holy rituals.
