Diageo India Launches Regenerative Agriculture Initiative
Diageo India introduced a regenerative agriculture program for rice farmers in Telangana to curtail carbon emissions and water usage in its supply chain. Partnering with the Centre for Sustainable Agriculture, the initiative will engage over 220 farmers and cover 500 hectares of land initially.

Diageo India, on Tuesday, unveiled a new regenerative agriculture programme targeting rice farmers in Telangana as part of its environmental strategies.
The initiative collaborates with the Centre for Sustainable Agriculture and involves more than 220 farmers across 15 villages, covering an initial 500 hectares, to help cut carbon emissions and water use.
This programme aims to boost smallholder farmers' resilience and reduce supply chain emissions by 50%, with a 30% cut in water use, aligning with Diageo India's broader ESG commitments, said Jitendra Mahajan, Chief Supply and Sustainability Officer.
